Deloitte's Center for Technology, Media & Telecommunications surveyed U.S. consumers and found that the average American spends eight hours a day online - half of waking hours. That equates to almost 3,000 hours a year. While all that time online can deliver positive experiences, 44% of those surveyed admit they struggle to limit their screen time to a level they are comfortable with, up from 38% year-over-year.
Internet of Things company Samsara (NYSE:IOT) announced better-than-expected revenue in Q1 CY2025, with sales up 30.7% year on year to $366.9 million. Guidance for next quarter’s revenue was better than expected at $372 million at the midpoint, 0.7% above analysts’ estimates. Its non-GAAP profit of $0.11 per share was 91.6% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
Fabless chip and software maker Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) met Wall Street’s revenue expectations in Q1 CY2025, with sales up 20.2% year on year to $15 billion. The company expects next quarter’s revenue to be around $15.8 billion, close to analysts’ estimates. Its non-GAAP profit of $1.58 per share was in line with analysts’ consensus estimates.
Building products company Quanex (NYSE:NX) beat Wall Street’s revenue expectations in Q1 CY2025, with sales up 70% year on year to $452.5 million. The company expects the full year’s revenue to be around $1.85 billion, close to analysts’ estimates. Its non-GAAP profit of $0.60 per share was 27% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
