SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 12, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, the #OurPower initiative officially launches in the United States with a bold, home-grown vision for America’s energy future. Inspired by the success of iconic campaigns like “Got Milk?”, the catch phrase #OurPower unites Americans around a simple, yet powerful message: All domestic energy resources, including sun and wind, should play a central role in powering America’s future, ensuring a sustainable and secure energy future for generations to come. This initiative is being led by Salt Lake City-based renewable energy developer rPlus Energies. Other organizations and individuals are invited to amplify and join the #OurPower movement on social media.

rPlus Energies today announced the successful closing of $304 million in new financing facilities, including a $179 million construction debt facility for its Pleasant Valley Solar 2 project and a $125 million Corporate Letter of Credit Facility secured with Deutsche Bank to support the company’s ongoing growth.

The Green River Energy Center, a combined 800-megawatt solar and battery storage project located in eastern Utah, and 11 dedicated project partners are thrilled to announce a contribution of $375,000 to support scholarships for students from Emery County or Carbon County. This investment establishes two scholarships - the Local First Scholarship and the Energy First Scholarship - in partnership with Utah State University Eastern (USUE).

rPlus Energies, a leading private renewable energy developer, has finalized a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Idaho Power for the 125-megawatt (MW) Pleasant Valley Solar 2 facility in Ada County, ID. The first phase of this project, the 200 MW Pleasant Valley Solar 1, was also developed by rPlus Energies and is under construction. Both projects will deliver solar energy to Idaho Power’s grid and support Meta’s goal to operate its nearby data center in Kuna, ID with 100% renewable energy.

One of the largest solar-plus-storage projects under construction in the nation, Green River Energy Center will supply power to PacifiCorp under a power purchase agreement.

rPlus Energies announced today the successful closing of over $1 billion in construction debt financing for its Green River Energy Center project subsidiary. Located in Emery County, an area with a long history of energy production, the project is comprised of 400 megawatts (MW) of solar PV and 400 MW/1,600 megawatt-hours of battery storage and has a power purchase agreement with PacifiCorp.

Today, Pleasant Valley Solar project partners, Matrix Renewables, rPlus Energies, Sundt Construction, EliTe Solar, and Idaho Power, announced that they have committed a total of $123,000 to both College of Western Idaho and Boise State University for two scholarships: the Local First – Pleasant Valley Solar Scholarship, in partnership with College of Western Idaho, and the Energy First – Pleasant Valley Solar Scholarship, in partnership with Boise State University. Each school will receive $61,500 for its respective program.

The $120,000 scholarship is specifically for students who currently reside in Iron County, UT -- home to the 200-megawatt (MW) Appaloosa Solar 1 project.
