Citrix Delivers Integration with Chrome Enterprise Premium to Extend Secure Access to Private Web Applications

Now available for customers, this new offering provides the familiar Chrome user experience while securely delivering private web applications without the need for VPNs or the cost of traditional VDI

Citrix, a business unit of Cloud Software Group, Inc., today announced that it has released the first integration in its expanded partnership with Google for its Chrome Enterprise Premium browser. Today’s news demonstrates that Citrix is progressively delivering on commitments from the companies’ initial announcement made earlier this year.

By pairing the most trusted enterprise browser with Citrix Secure Private Access™, organizations can deliver zero-trust access to private web, SaaS and legacy applications without the need for complex security infrastructure.

“This integration with Google Chrome Enterprise allows us to continue delivering best-in-class service to our customers,” said Sridhar Mullapudi, co-president at Citrix. “We know security and cost pressures are top-of-mind for organizations, and we are committed to delivering solutions that help mitigate those hurdles.”

The shift to hybrid work fundamentally transformed how organizations develop and deliver applications, moving from legacy, on-premises systems to flexible, cloud-based models accessible from anywhere. This evolution compelled companies to refresh security strategies, adopting cloud-native solutions to reduce evolving cyber threats to a dispersed workforce. The Citrix platform, now with Google Chrome Enterprise Premium, enhances the capabilities of Secure Service Edge and Zero Trust principles by enforcing Data Loss Protection (DLP) restrictions, blocking phishing attempts and malware, and providing granular access to corporate applications.

This solution is available now to customers, included as part of the Citrix Platform License.

“Enterprises are in the midst of a major technology shift, and the move to web-based apps offers their workforce a simple, secure approach to app access and data protections across different form factors,” said Bryan Lee, VP of Chrome Enterprise GTM. “By combining the value of Chrome Enterprise and Citrix technologies, organizations are supported as they evolve towards cloud-native environments that are protected by zero-trust security models.”

Key benefits of the Citrix Secure Private Access integration with Chrome Enterprise include:

  • Cost Effectiveness: Provides a comprehensive and secure application access and data protection solution under a single platform license, reducing the cost and overhead of VDI for web applications.
  • Security: Combines Chrome’s built-in security features with Citrix’s Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) to deliver seamless, secure access to private applications across any deployment model, eliminating the need for VPNs and enhancing security posture.
  • Simplicity: Offers a unified, secure access point for all application types through Chrome, enabling IT to enforce policies and ensure compliance while delivering a familiar, user-friendly experience.
