Amid pervasive burnout in healthcare, award recognizes Heidi’s work to deploy AI that is purpose-built for alleviating physician administrative burdens
Heidi, a fast-growing healthcare AI company, is thrilled to announce its selection as the College of Health information Management Executives (CHIME)’s 2025 Foundation Partner of the Year. The award was presented to Heidi at this week’s CHIME25 Fall Forum in San Antonio Texas, where about 800 digital health leaders gathered to discuss the future of innovation in healthcare.
As this year’s Foundation Partner of the Year, Heidi demonstrated excellence in partnership, collaboration, and the use of technology to advance healthcare. Although the company only joined CHIME in 2025 and launched its AI scribe less than two years ago, Heidi stood out for its focus on designing solutions around the physician experience — driving higher satisfaction and adoption than competing AI scribes on the market. In a recent survey conducted by KLAS Research, 100% of Heidi’s surveyed customers said they would buy the AI-powered scribing and workflow tools again.
“We’re at a turning point in digital health. For the first time, many providers are experiencing what technology can do for them when it’s thoughtfully designed around how they really work,” said Dr. Thomas Kelly, CEO and co-founder of Heidi. “We’re honored to receive this award, and see it as validation of Heidi’s unique, unapologetically clinician-first approach.”
Heidi’s recognition was also shaped by letters from customers who shared the success of early AI implementations at leading health systems, including Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts and MaineGeneral Health in Maine. At MaineGeneral, specifically, the health system saw 98% adoption among the first cohort of those using Heidi, with medical staff saving on average 2 hours daily, in addition to reporting reduced cognitive load, greater in-room presence, and improved note quality.
“We were looking for a clinical AI partner, not just a scribe,” explains Mark St. John, CIO at MaineGeneral Health. “The benefits to ambient AI are immediate with a reduction in documentation time and more focus on patients in the visit, but there is a bigger, long-term potential as well. We see ambient AI as a tool that can significantly reduce the administrative burden for physicians while also improving our clinical data and billing.”
Heading into 2026, Heidi is focused on building a comprehensive AI Care Partner that goes beyond transcribing clinical notes — automating the full spectrum of administrative work, from documentation and form completion to task management and follow-up calls. The goal: to free physicians’ time and attention so they can focus more fully on their patients. This prestigious recognition also follows the company’s announcement of a recent $65 million in Series B funding, which is already accelerating its mission to build a true AI Care Partner that sits alongside doctors.
