Anythink’s New Nature Library Inspires Shift in Foundation’s Strategic Direction, With Focus on Environmental Stewardship for Long-Term Community Impact

The Anythink Foundation, a longtime nonprofit supporting the public library system for Adams County, Anythink Libraries, is coalescing with a new board of directors that will guide private fundraising efforts in support of the Anythink Nature Library that will open in the summer of 2026.

Five new directors make up Anythink Foundation’s volunteer board, including Sarah Ortegon HighWalking, Dennis Humphries, Emma Mantooth, Amy Miranda, and Maura O’Neal. Each of the board of directors has a deep relationship with Anythink, a passion for libraries and the communities served.

As the Anythink Foundation enters this new chapter, its focus will help support the library system’s vision of helping people find their place in nature, inspire a new generation of environmental stewards and contribute to a healthy and happy community, no matter someone’s background, location or socioeconomic standing.

Fundraising will drive program development for the new Nature Library, which is located on a 15-acre library property near 136th Avenue and Quebec Street in Thornton. The 33,000-square-foot Nature Library, adjacent to the 140-acre Aylor Open Lands, will feature exterior gardens and trails, an indoor/outdoor nature lab, as well as a sunroom and a dark room for both active and more meditative programs. Fundraising will also contribute to materials that facilitate nature learning and reflection, including TryIts, specifically selected for outdoor learning and adventure.
